Creating images about, not of; creating questions, not understandings; seeking contemplation, not interpretation.

The scene is where the photograph begins—not where it has to end.

My vision is not simply to record what is in front of me, but to create the image I see in my mind. The scene is only the beginning. Through light, composition, movement, and interpretation, I work toward something more personal—often more painterly than literal.

Every photograph is an invitation—not to find answers, but to pause long enough to ask new questions.

My hope is not that you see what I saw, but that you discover something of your own.

Inspired by the beauty and solitude of the natural world, these images seek to reveal what lies beyond the visible.

My Story

Discover My Story
Born in Syracuse, New York, in 1953, I spent much of my childhood with my grandparents in Locke, a small town in New York's Finger Lakes region. My grandfather's love of the outdoors sparked a lifelong passion for exploring the forests, streams, and mountains of the Northeast, where I continue to find both inspiration and solitude.

Although I have no formal training in the arts, I have been influenced by the work of Ansel Adams and Edward Weston, whose vision helped establish photography as a true art form. Their belief that a photograph should express an artist's vision rather than simply record a scene continues to shape my approach.

Today, I strive to create images that are about a subject rather than merely of it—images that invite contemplation, provoke questions, and encourage viewers to discover their own meaning.

Every photograph begins a conversation. If one of my images has spoken to you—or perhaps raised more questions than answers—I invite you to continue the conversation. Your thoughts and reflections are always welcome.
